Every time I visit 4chan, it’s striking how homophobic, sexist, racist and anti-Semitic its members are. How can they possibly argue that they are presenting a contrasting view of the world when every other posts talks about faggots, cunts, niggers and Jews? These are words of ignorant children, who use them as shock language, but who would probably never say them out loud in front of their parents. They really talk like kids who don’t believe anyone should be offended because, after all, they are just kids. There is a link to report any post as abusive but by the standards of any reasonable person, half of the posts would end up being flagged as offensive.

You don’t get to treat other people like trash and then demand that they take you seriously. You will get no respect as long as you show no respect to other people. Words have consequences, even though they can hide behind anonymity. They will discover this when they encounter the offline world, outside of school.
